Chaguo La Teeniez Awards

The Insyder Magazine' Chaguo La Teeniez Awards (CHAT Awards) is a project that seeks to recognise and award Kenyans youth who have made meaningful contribution to our society by excelling in the disciplines of academics, arts and sports. The need for such an award ceremony has been brought about by the fact that the youth in Kenya have not been given any meaningful recognition, despite the fact that they are not only the majority in the country, but they are also its future. In order to build a country that will have confident and able-bodied citizens, it is of paramount importance that we recognize the achievements of its youth. Initiated in 2002, the CHAT Awards have been hosted annually during the month of April. The April month is key because it is a time when teens are home during the school holidays. Over the years, the CHAT Awards have grown to become Kenya's most watched and diverse awards event, attracting crowds of more than 20,000 people over a 6 year period. The CHAT Awards have been characterized with pomp and razzmatazz never witnessed before in the Kenyan entertainment industry.
